Those moments when you've over slept and you are in a rush to go, Crocs and Sandals/Flops are life savers.

Crocs use to be a thing to wear for nurses. I use to hear a lot of people say, "blah or ewww" to the idea of even wearing them and now, everyone is talking about them. People jazz them up and add their own twist to them or you can buy them jazzed up already.

What's also the talk of town is American rapper Kanye West, "AdidasYezzy Slides". For both Men & Women

This type of dress is a product and a body supplement. The cultural component I can connect this dress to is ideology & technology. Reason, this product was design to gain people's interest. People use technology to see and get this product. The cultural mechanism this dress is connected to is economic organization, communication and arts. Each economic group can afford these items. Kanye West slides can range up to $700, he also provides sliders at a lower cost. I think both Crocs and Sandals are a form of fashion art. Wearing them is a self-expression, which everyone has their own reason for wearing them and how they wear them. After Covid-19 a lot of individuals rather be comfortable, yet stylish at the same the same time.

I think it's cool that males are embracing who they are, by adding simple gold or silver metal cuffs to their hairstyle. Roaming the streets, I often see it on hairstyles such as French braids, dreads or wicks which is also a form of dreads, but thick and fuller.

American actor/rapper Jaden Smith before he cut his dreads off, he often worn the metal cuffs in his hair.

For some it's a cultural statement and for others it's just fashion. We all get inspired by some sort of culture until we eventually create our own.

My Entry....

This type of dress is a product and a body supplement. Metal cuffs are sold in many different stores all around the world. Mostly your general beauty supply store. The cultural component I can connect this dress to is ideology and technology. Wearing metal cuffs in you hair doesn't necessarily mean it has a deeper meaning, although it is associated with African culture. Meatal cuffs are a trend for hairstyles which can simply be an interest for men to wear. Technology allows us to connect to each other and get inspired by one another through social media. The cultural mechanism I can connect this dress to is art & aesthetics because it's shows human expression.

I remember as a kid, I would always get a hairstyle with French braids and colorful beads added on at the end of my hair. I recently tried the hairstyle as an adult, I forgot how heavy the beads are, if you add so many, but the neck pain was worth the look. lol.

Today wearing beads at the end of a braider hairstyle is quite trendy. In my profession I see woman all the time with it and I think its super cute.

Here is Solange; a music artist, expressing her braided hairstyles with beads.

This dress is a product and a body supplement. Hair beads is a product that can be bought in the crafts area at a store or your local beauty supply store. They can be attached to the ends of your hair. The cultural components I can connect this dress to is ideology, socialization. Today, hair jewelry has become more readily available in black salons and hair stores. Women across the diaspora wear hair ornaments with contemporary interpretations of African hair designs regularly. They're a go-to for natural hair artists and style influencers, who consider them a simple yet expressive way to add bold color and luster to looks. The cultural mechanism I can connect this dress to is family/kinship organization and socialization. In a more contemporary sense, hair jewelry has become less of a status symbol and more a stylistic one. It comes from the African Heritage.
